Frequently asked
questions

What is Knock Knock?

An internet calling app where your email is your phone number. Free, no downloads required. Works in any modern browser.

Do I need an account to answer a knock?

No. Anyone can answer a knock from the email link — no account needed. Only the person initiating the call needs to sign in.

Is it free?

Yes. Knock Knock is free. Call anyone, anywhere, with no subscription or payment required.

What devices does it work on?

Any device with a modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Edge. Safari on iOS has WebRTC limitations we are working to fix with a dedicated Knock Browser.

How do I get my door link?

Sign in and your door link is shown on your home page. Share it with anyone — they can knock you directly from that link without needing an account.

Can I see my call history?

Yes. Your call history is available on your dashboard after signing in.

How do I stop people from knocking me?

Go to Settings and close your door. Your door page will show "closed" to visitors. You can reopen it any time.

Is my email address public?

Only if you share your door link. Your email is never listed publicly without your consent.

Is the call recorded?

No. Call audio is transmitted peer-to-peer via LiveKit WebRTC and is not recorded or stored by us.
